2017 Guinness World Records™ for the Longest Banana Split

The current previous record, held since 1988 by the town of Selinsgrove in Pennsylvania, USA is 7,320 metres.

The goal at the 2017 Innisfail Feast of the Senses will be to achieve 8 km.
Actually, 8.2km or 8,200 metres!!

The outstanding group of about 500 volunteers made a Banana Split 8,040 metres long.

The logistics are impressive: Approximately 40,000 bananas, 2,500 litres of ice cream, 2,000 litres of topping including local Mungalli Dairy yoghurt...

Saturday 25 March 2017 – the day before Australian Bananas Market Day at Callendar Park, Innisfail – home ground of Brother’s Leprechauns at around 4:00pm.

Headed up by Boxwars, cardboard artists from Melbourne, the building and decorating of the framework is a project in its own right, funded by Festivals Australia.
Boxwars will be providing 8,200 cardboard towers between which the V channeling will run.
The V channeling will hold the banana split.

Join in the attempt for the 2017 Guinness World Records™ for the Longest Banana Split!
