Wake up in Mission Beach - So Much To Do

Birthplace of the Great Barrier Reef
Relax, Swim, Snorkel, Dive, Sail, Eat, Play, Stay - Mission Beach has it all!

Autumn sunrises are simply magical and definitely worth getting up early for when you live in Mission Beach.

Mission Beach is the Birthplace of the Great Barrier Reef; if you want to experience this natual wonder, this is the ideal place to do it from - you can cruise out to some of the closest reefs to the Queensland coast. There are high speed RIB rides and more casual island-hopping cruises.

Mission Beach has some of the best fishing in Australia. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to your ultimate fishing adventure. Whether you prefer beach, river or reef fishing, you'll find a Mission Beach operator who can get you hooked up!

Throughout the year, Mission Beach hosts markets, art exhibitions, sporting and other events.

The Mission Beach Community Cassowary Festival on 4th June 2017 will be a celebration of nature with a focus on the cassowary and our community. It will be held in conjunction with the Rotary Sunday village market and continue throughout the afternoon. Extra market stall space will be available for you to share your goods or activities celebrating nature. A beachside marquee and stage will host guest speakers, live music, performances, competitions, etc. The cassowary/nature theme may spread to the whole town over the whole weekend!

Being held at the beginning of the tourist season, the event is expected to attract a big audience and participation. It will include celebrities and national media so it will be great for business too. The more that people in the community get involved (individuals and groups, young and old), the more fun the event will be for locals and visitors!
