Josephine Falls - Crystal Clear Rainforest Swimming

Cool, Clear Water from the Tallest Mountain in Queensland
A great place to relax and have a picnic

The beauty of Josephine Falls attracts romance from everywhere.

Crystal clear water, Wet Tropics Rainforest, natural waterslides and large boulders to relax on… sounds like we’re dreaming right? This is Josephine Falls.

Pack a picnic lunch and spend the day at this delightful swimming spot nestled in Wooroonooran National Park.

Just a 25 minute drive north of Innisfail and you'll have arrived at one of the Tropical Coast's prettiest freshwater swimming spots.
Turn off the Bruce Highway 2km south of Mirriwinni and drive 8km to Josephine Falls.
Access is possible by conventional vehicle.

Try a delicious coffee or a snack at the Mirriwinni Service Station or have a meal and stay the night at the Miriwinni Hotel.

From Qld National Parks:
Camping is not permitted at Josephine Falls.

Camping is available nearby at Henrietta Creek in Palmerston, at Goldsborough Valley and at Russell River National Park. Facilities differ at each site. Camping permits are required and fees apply.

If you prefer to rough it, then limited bush camping opportunities exist as part of the Bartle Frere trail. These are ‘hike-in’ sites and the camper needs to be totally self-sufficient. Here too, camping permits are required and fees apply.
